Maison&Objet 2019

Metalmobil has attended Maison&Objet 2019, the international furniture and design trade fair in Paris between 18 and 22 January, to present the extension of the Shade family by Philippe Nigro and the latest seating collections designed for indoor and outdoor collective spaces.

The original collection of metal seats now also features a new chair with armrests and the stool, that are also characterized by an architecture of steel tubes and wires welded together to create a graphical and optical woven effect. Shade is not just a design product as it is the perfect solution for furnishing indoor and outdoor areas in offices and retail spaces, homes and contemporary living spaces, where there is an increasing hybridization between the public and private dimension. With an innate elegance, the collection offers high qualitative standards in terms of comfort and ergonomics, aside from the possibility, to be customised in accordance with customers’ requirements.

The exhibition stand was designed by Gianni Filindeu, who explains: “The project for the Maison & Objet stand forms part of the formal and expressive research that has characterised all the spaces that have been designed to date for Metalmobil. Once again, the project is the result of small architectures entrusted to the - at times rather complex – composition of simple formal elements. Even in this case, the core themes of the project were the use of the colour white, smooth surfaces and clean spaces. These include a subtle nod to Italian Rationalism, in particular the work of Giuseppe Terragni”.

Aside from Shade, the stand also featurered other innovative projects combining contemporary aesthetics and the utmost functionality, including: Pillow, a highly original project by the eclectic Andrea Anastasio, whose work was presented at Milan’s Salone del Mobile in 2018 to widespread public appeal, and Hull, the seat designed by Harri Koskinen which stands out for its aesthetic rigour and the choice of a quintessentially Nordic and modern material like beechwood.

As well as those described above, Metalmobil presented collections designed by Marc Sadler, Giulio Iacchetti, Emilio Nanni and Francesco Geraci.
